  • Chicopee City Council approves parking ordinance changes

    CHICOPEE - The following ordinance changes have been approved by the City Council following a second and final reading.

    They are: two parking prohibited between signs from the driveway of 201 Montgomery St. in a northerly direction for a distance of 45 feet; parking prohibited from here to corner on School Street on the east side of Pleasant Street and School Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 40 feet; and a parking prohibited sign from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday on Paine Avenue from the intersection of Hamilton Street.

    Others are: parking prohibited sign from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the east side of Hamilton Street; parking prohibited tow zone on Hamilton Street on the east side 20 feet north of Page Court; parking prohibited tow zone on Hamilton Street from the east side of Cochran Street to Page Court; a parking prohibited sign in front of 36 Jackson St.; and one hour parking between signs for two parking spaces on the northerly side in front of 358 Britton St. and parking prohibited on both sides of Windsor Street and the entire length at the intersection of Windsor Street and Summit Avenue.

    A request for pedestrian crossing signs to be installed in front of 191 Montcalm St. facing Faith United Church at the intersection of Hansen Street and in front of 400 Britton St. by Fairhaven Apartments and the Fairview Branch Library were approved by the council and sent to the Department of Public Works for implementation.
