Won't signing up be a big pain?

Actually, it's very easy, and takes less than a minute. Just click here, fill out a few fields, and you're nearly done. After you submit your account information, a message will be sent to the e-mail address you entered in the sign-up form. Click the link in the message, and your account will be activated. What if the nickname I want is already taken?

If your first choice for a nickname is taken, be creative. Replace some letters with characters or numbers, add an initial, add a number to the end of your name, or try an alternate spelling. Back to Top

Do I have to fill out the profile info when I sign up?

Not at all; the Personal Profile is optional. It's just another fun feature that allows you to tell people a little bit about yourself, should you choose to do so. Back to Top

I changed my mind and I'd like to fill out the profile. How do I get back to it?

If you didn't create a profile when you first signed up, or if you want to edit your profile, log in and click on the "Revise Account" link that appears in the upper right corner of your screen. That will take you to your Account Preferences page, where you can change your Personal Profile info, as well as other account info such as your password or preferred e-mail address. Back to Top

Can I change my password?

Yes, you can. Simply log in and click on the "Revise Account" link that appears in the upper right corner of your screen. That will take you to your Account Preferences page, where you can change your password, as well as other account info. Back to Top

Will I start getting lots of SPAM?

At the bottom of the Registration Page, there are boxes that you can check if you want to have information and special offers e-mailed to you. If none of these boxes are checked, you will not receive any unsolicited e-mail from us or our affiliated companies. Back to Top

Will everyone see my e-mail address?

The e-mail address you entered when you signed up will not be displayed, unless you choose to include it in the body of your message or on your profile page. Back to Top

Will I have to log in every time I want to post?

If you check the box marked "Remember My Password" on the Account Preferences page, or the box marked "Remember Me" on the log-in screen, you will only have to sign in once, on your first visit. After that, you will never have to log in again to post a message. If this box is NOT checked, you will have to log in to post a Forum message. If more than one person is using the same computer or if you have multiple online identities, DO NOT select this option. Back to Top

By mistake, I saved my password. How can I change this?

When you're in the forums, click on "LOG OUT" in the top right of your screen. The following message will be displayed:

If you Log Out, your Nickname and Password will not be remembered and you will have to Log In the next time you visit forums. Do you want to Log Out?

Click "OK" and your password will no longer be saved. You will now have to log in the next time you visit forums. (Make sure you do not select the "Remember Me" option on the log-in screen.) Back to Top

Why was I told that I am trying to post too frequently?

Our forum software is designed to prevent flooding, so if you try to post multiple messages with the same subject line, your post will be blocked. To post a new message, just change your subject line slightly and you should have no problem posting. Back to Top

Why was my post rejected for being too long?

Individual forum messages are limited to 5,000 characters in length. If you need more space, break up your thoughts into separate posts. Back to Top

How can I report inappropriate behavior in the Forums?

You can let us know about posts that are in violation of our User Agreement by clicking the "Alert Us" button displayed on every Forum page.
